Magazine Peer Review

1. What is the name of the magazine that you looked at and who made it? Young Dreams is the magazine and it was made by Katrina.
2. List two things you liked about the magazine cover. I really like the photo that she used, it shows the intensity in the eyes of a young baseball player. I also really like how the colors of her captions are colors that are also in the photo itself.
3. Suggest something to the creator to improve the cover. I think that Katrina could have used different fonts that looked more crisp and professional, or she could have not outlines the text with a different color.
4. Why did you pick this cover? Specifically what attracted your eyes. The photo really attracted me to this cover, the magazine as a whole is well organized, but the photo really hooked me.
5. Is there a bar code? Is it appropriate in size and located in the correct place? Yes there is a barcode in the right place and it is correctly sized.
6. If you were walking by the magazines in Barnes and Nobles would you pick this magazine up and look at it? Why or Why not?
I wouldn't pick this magazine up at Barnes and Nobles because I'm not much of a sports enthusiast, not enough to read a magazine about it.
7. Can you tell if it was a portrait or self-portrait? I can tell this is a portrait.

1. What is the name of the magazine that you looked at and who made it? The magazine is titled What's New and is by Bianca.
2. List two things you liked about the magazine cover. I loves the photo Bianca took, it's very professional. Also the colors of the captions and the title flow really nicely with the photo.
3. Suggest something to the creator to improve the cover. The price is placed in a awkward place, it overlaps the barcode so I think just placing that farther away from the barcode and making the outline around the date more even would make the magazine even better.
4. Why did you pick this cover? Specifically what attracted your eyes. The fall colors really attracted me to pick this cover, as well as the beautiful landscape in the background.
5. Is there a bar code? Is it appropriate in size and located in the correct place? The barcode is perfect and in the correct location, it just interferes with the price.
6. If you were walking by the magazines in Barnes and Nobles would you pick this magazine up and look at it? Why or Why not? I would pick this magazine up and maybe even buy it because it's very pleasing to the eye and seems like something I'd be interested in.
7. Can you tell if it was a portrait or self-portrait?
I can tell this photo is a portrait.

1. What is the name of the magazine that you looked at and who made it? The name of the magazine is Divine and its made by Reagan.
2. List two things you liked about the magazine cover. I love the photo and how the model has makeup on one side of her face an not the other. I also like how the red of the title corresponds to the lipstick the model is wearing.
3. Suggest something to the creator to improve the cover. I think Reagan could improve the captions visibility by rearranging at least the first one that says "Top Ten" because some of the letter blended in with photo.
4. Why did you pick this cover? Specifically what attracted your eyes. The bright red lipstick attracted me, it was very intriguing.
5. Is there a bar code? Is it appropriate in size and located in the correct place? The barcode is places correctly but it could have been a little bigger.
6. If you were walking by the magazines in Barnes and Nobles would you pick this magazine up and look at it? Why or Why not? I would pick this up at Barnes and Nobles because I peaks my interests and has a pretty cover.
7. Can you tell if it was a portrait or self-portrait? I can tell this is a self-portrait.

Prompt Shoot 3 Peer Review

http://rebeccasphotojournalismblog.blogspot.com/2016/01/prompt-shoot-3.html#comment-form

1. Which photo do you like best? Why?
I like Rebecca's footprint photos the best because of the perspective. The shoes are at eye level which is really neat. The photo is very pleasing to the eye.

2. Which is your least favorite image? Why?My least favorite image is the pose because it was lacking in composition. I think that she could have done something different and unique with it like she did with the footprints photo.

3. Overall, make two positive statements about their pictures.
I love the perspective used to take the "footprint" photo. I also like how creative her "connected" photo is.

4. Overall, what is one area that this person could improve upon in your opinion.
I think Rebecca could improve on her composition for the picture of the two girls in "pose". It was a good photo, but not as unique and creative as her other photos were.

5. Which prompt do you think they did the best portraying, from your perspective?
I think that Rebecca did the best portraying the "footprint" prompt because the photo was visually appealing, and used different techniques.

6. Which prompt do you think they did the least successfully portray, from your perspective?
I think Rebecca was least successful in the pose photo because girls were just standing there, whereas she could have made them do a different pose so she could incorporate different composition techniques.

welcome back

1.

I really like this photo because of all the different aspects of a poor man that it shows. I can see he doesn't have a home, proper clothes, he's so skinny that he looks like he is facing malnutrition. The photo puts emphasis on the reality that many people in New Delhi face.

2.

This picture is one of my favorites because of how amazing it looks. The photo is shoot while the man is running and caught midair. It's different then all the other images, and looks like it hold belong in an action film.

3.

The intercity captured in this picture makes it one of my favorites. The women s shedding tears for the three muslim students killed by a man and in today's society this photo is an everyday reality. Countless innocents are killed and this photo conveys the affect it has on loved ones.

part 2-

1. Hello by Adele

I think Hello by Adele was the best song of 2015 because its popularity spread like fire and it made a big impact on everyone. This song did so well because it was Adele's first single for her new album after she spent so many years resting and redeveloping her voice. I like it a lot because I love Adele's voice and her lyrics are meaningful and soulful which I love. Another reason the song was the best was because it instantly topped the music charts and brought Adele back into the limelight.

2. Inside Out

I believe that Inside Out was the best movie of the year because of the message behind the movie for children and really everyone. The movie taught viewers that as you grow up and life changes around you, it is ok to feel different emotions and that sadness bring the light of happiness. The movie was very inspirational, but also had great graphic and had an amazing childlike interpretation of the human mind.
3. Charlie Hebdo- Terror Attack

I believe that this is the most important new article of 2015 because this was the first terror attack in 2015 that had a huge impact on everyone. The attack lasted almost 3 days and was largely publicized all over social media which made it more known than other terror attacks.

4. Most Important Person of 2015- Black Lives Matter Activists

I believe that they're the most important in 2015 because many of them have been attacked this year for no reason. Many innocent African American lives were lost and America needs people to advocate for them. Their voice needs to be heard, so what these activists are doing is very important.

5. Biggest Entertainment Story of 2015- Miss Universe

In my opinion the Miss Universe story was the biggest of the year, because it attracted many people and was the subject of social media for a long time. This was the first time that the wrong winner's name had been called out, so it was a big deal. In the end Miss Philippines won, although initially Mis Columbia's name was called out.

1. Over the break I hung out with my friends, and we went ice skating. I didn't fall but I was really scared the whole time because I'm not very good.

2.  For 2016 I want to start keeping a journal so that I can reflect on my day and improve myself on a personal and social level.

3.  In 2016 I look forward to new adventures, a happy life,  and accomplishing my goals for the year.
